On December 14, 2017, CHS held its first open house and fundraising evening since the building's move was completed. Thanks to all those who came out on this very cold night to tour the building without heat! But there was plenty of hot chocolate and warm company.
Families were able to choose which window they would like to sponsor, and brass plates were later affixed to the windowsills with their dedications.
All window replacements were sponsored within a matter of two weeks!
For many, it was the first time they had ever been inside the building. For others, it brought back fond memories.
In February 2017, the Canton Bicentennial Committee held their annual fundraising event in the CHS hall, with a Mardi Gras theme. The town will hold its Bicentennial Celebration in August of 2021, and fundraising events throughout the years leading up to 2021 will help fund the many events during the weekend-long celebration.
